Bedtime Story A La Maddi

Rare moment when Mommy is actually in front of the camera... SAY WHAAAAT!?!? LOL
Every night at bedtime, Daddy and/or Mommy read two books to Maddison, however the past month we seem to have a little girl that loves to imitate her teachers and read us the books. She usually sits on her bed and tells us to "sit on your letter" (at school all the kids have an assigned letter on the alphabet rug). She then gives a quick pause and sings "Cris-cross applesauce, hands on knees, nooooooo talking." (a quick song the teachers sing so the kids are ready for the book)
***It's really hard not to tear up or even giggle, because if I do, she will stop because she gets embarrassed.

I am so thankful that Mike caught this on video for me. It is a very cherished moment to me, and I love that Maddi shared with me. I have watched it a million times, and watch it on nights that I get homesick for Maddi while I am at work.  Watching this makes me feel like I can be with her during her bedtime stories with Daddy during the week.

***Listen for her tell me all the stuff her room needs... she reeeeeeally wants a rug in her room, so she doesn't have to pretend to have one like school. She's telling me all the different rugs she wouldn't mind having... LOL silly girl!!!

Daddy's Girl
When I first started dating Mike, he always had these two OLD Chicago Bears shirts that used to be his. He would tell me how he has saved them so his kids can wear them too, and he always wanted to recreate a picture that he and his dad did when he was little. Well, it just so happened, a few weeks ago, Mike's parents stopped by to give him an 8x10 copy of the picture that had been hanging in their house for years... and I had a light bulb go off!!
I cannot put into words how much fun it was to have Maddi put on one of those OLD shirts that use to be Daddy's, and send her into the living room to surprise him! He leaped off the couch (trying to hide a few tears LOL) and wanted to take some fun pictures together in their Bears gear! I'm so glad that these two let me take their pictures, because they are so adorable!

I must say, the Chicago bow is a bit BIG, but Miss Maddi's cute-self can pull it off! She felt so special that she was wearing Daddy's shirt, and that "they all match!"
(Papa Steve, Daddy, and Maddi = "They")

I still can't figure out if Daddy loves Maddi more, or if Maddi loves Daddy more... but what I can say for sure is...
I love them both MORE! ;)

Simply Maddi

A collection of random pictures that make me giggle:

Maddi & her Papa Dave
Maddi trying to fit all of her Christmas plushes in her chair with her

Maddi laughing at Mommy bc she just ran me over with her four wheeler.
Maddi showing off her "Poopy Stickers"

Maddi trying to sit in her one of her book shelves from her Great Aunts.
Maddi showing off her outfit she hand picked for singing in church.
(which she decided not to wear on the day... girls!?)

Mommy and Maddi lunch date for Chinese food.  She was so excited she just couldn't hide it!?
Maddi and my friend's grandson Chase in our dog's kennel drinking a juice box!? Why do all kids do this?

Two Bandits after my piggy bank!!
               Always a princess...                                                                          Always fashionable...
 Always on the go...

 What a HAM!!!

And... my favorite silly picture... a Blooper:
Maddi and Daddy looking at something else instead of the camera... caught a picture of her
"Haley 01" shirt and tu-tu she wore for our surprise announcements for family!
This was only 4 months ago (this outfit doesn't fit her anymore) however it feels like a life time ago!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Valentine's Day made Maddi a very busy girl! She painted a few gifts, mailed Valentine's to all of her cousins and Grandparents, and she baked her Daddy some of his favorite cookies! She even helped me deliver the cookies to his work, with a heart shaped balloon and chocolates she picked out for him!

Maddi LOVES to be a "helper"... just hates getting her hands dirty! LOL
(Had to cut the video short bc she started flipping the mixture all over.
*Some dough was harmed in the making of this film, however was laid to rest in the garbage* :o)

Supervising and forgetting who these cookies are actually for LOL

While the cookies finished baking, we decided to start painting!!!

 BAM! The finished product:

Valentine's Day morning! Maddi got a BIG card, two mini books, Love Bug antennas, and candy hearts!
Below is her hamming it up with Daddy, Shaking her antennas,
and her being sassy and done with my photos! LOL

After all of the fun, and her fun Valentine's party at school, this little girl was all LOVED out!
Thank you to everyone that sent her valentines and/or gifts. She is one SPOILED and LOVED little girl!

God Sisters= BFFs

God Sisters come for Daddy's Birthday Tea Party and Pajama Party

I was very nervous about Maddi meeting my God Daughters, as all three of these girls mean the WORLD to Mike and I, and we didn't know if there would be an issue with jealousy or confusion. Well, I worried for nothing, as usual. The three of them acted like a bunch of long lost friends!? All three of them took right to each other, and were giggling, hugging, singing songs, and being down right silly right from the start! [insert sigh of relief here] :)

Here is a video of the ride from our God Daughter's house to our:

* Fun fact from the day:My God Daughters call me "Nee Nee", and Mike... well he is just Mike. LOL
I was waiting to see what Maddi would think of this, and a couple of times I heard to refer to me as Nee Nee and Mike as Mike, just to mirror the girls. We just talked about it with her, and the girls (is the cutest way) helped explain that Mike and I were not THEIR Mommy and Daddy, but MADDI's. And then explained who their Daddy was, and how Maddi would call him Kevin. The three of them conversing was the sweetest little conversations you can imagine... however I am probably a bit partial. LOL

For Mike's B-day we hosted a Tea Party, however their was a dress code! Makeovers and fancy clothes and jewelery were a MUST. :) Here is the group of my Tea Party guest... and although I am behind the camera... you can bet that I have a prom dress and tiara on. :o)

After the Tea Party, the girls went off playing by themselves... which was new territory for Mike and I. We are used to having the girls doing activities with just us, as we have never had a little girl for them to play with. They played Barbies, restaurant, more dress up, watched cartoons together, piggy back rides, and paper dolls.

We had Subway for dinner and then played "Flashlight Hide and Go Seek". This was the first time Maddi had played this game with us, and she was having a BLAST! (actually that is probably an understatement)
At first she hid with Mike, so he could make sure she wouldn't get scared or anything... but she soon dropped him like a sack of potatoes, and hid with our youngest God Daughter the rest of the time. Those two were CRACKING us up! The girls were begging Mike and I for "ONE MORE TIME!!!".... and that turned into 20 more times... give or take.

And to finish off this incredibly long post today, enjoy some of the extra funny videos of these crazy girls bouncing on our air mattress. This has been a LONG TIME tradition for my God Daughters, so they  thought best to make sure they showed Maddison how to do it too! :o)

We had a blast, and for about 2 weeks Maddi would talk and ask about my God Daughters NON-STOP! She loved having them over, and we are happy about that, as we love having them over too!

Open House- Tinkerbell Style!

1/25/14

Mike and my mother's wanted to host an open house for Maddison, to welcome her to the family.
We at first, did not know when we wanted to have such  a shin-dig for her, as we didn't know how long it would take for us to feel like she was ready. Maddison, right from the start  just bonded to us so well , that we knew she would be ready by 1/25/14. We did try to keep it as small as possible, but we still had over 55 people stop by to meet Maddison and have some cake and snacks with us. Our moms and other family members that helped to throw us the party, were so awesome! It was a Tinkerbell themed party, (Which Maddi and I both thought was super cool!) full of pretty decorations and even some fun things for the kids. Maddi's new cousins and my long time friend's little girl played so well together, and they even helped Maddi open her presents!

Maddison trying on her Tinkerbell outfit that Grandma Wanda and Papa Dave got her to wear to her party.
I had to practically pry it off her... I think she would have slept in it if I would have let her. :o)

Maddison was spoiled with three... yes I said THREE different cakes! The above picture is of the giant sheet cake that had a picture of her adoption announcement on it (so awesome), the below picture of Tinkerbell cupcakes, and (not pictured) chocolate rainbow colored cupcakes!  Grandma Sherri and Papa Steve ordered all the cakes, and she LOVED them!
*She especially loved that she got to "eat her face" a couple days after the party*

What's a party without a Pinata!?
(Maddi special requested that there be a pinata, so the Grandma's got a Tinkerbell one...SPOILED!!!)

Which string is going to release all the goodies???

 DADDY!?!?

Maddi was exhausted when it was over, a clear sign that she had a blast!
We wanted to thank everyone that came to meet Maddi and welcome her into the family!
I will proudly go on record and say that Mike and I have THE BEST family and friends,
and now Miss Maddison Grace does too! :)
